Medical
Services
DAHS aims to provide health care, assessments, understanding and
education to the community through the following approaches:
- provision of support to clients
- advocating with and on behalf of the
client with General Practitioners and Specialists
- conducting client health checks
- Providing outreach services
- Promoting the philosophy of the DAHS
Six doctors are employed on a sessional basis
and one Registrar who assists in consultations. There are also nine
Health Workers and two drivers within the medical unit. Approximately
200-250 patients are seen each week.
In addition to the Clinic medical services, DAHS
also runs numerous Clinic programs.
Specialist
Services
DAHS works with a number of visiting specialists to provide the
community with the expertise of specialist advice. Our clinical
health workers or clinical doctors can provide referrals.
Specialist services include:
- Podiatrist
- Pediatrician (monthly)
- Dietician (fortnightly)
- Gynecologist (monthly)
- Optometrist (2-3 times per year)
- Physician (monthly)

Medicare
Patients visiting the clinic for the first time need to present
their Medicare Card prior to seeing a doctor. Staff are able to
assist patients to ensure their Medicare Card is up-to-date or to
deal with any problems they may have with the paper work.
Clinic
Hours
The Clinic is open between the hours of 8.30am - 4.00pm on Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 9.00am - 7.00pm on Tuesday.
No appointment is necessary.

Pick
Up Service
DAHS can arrange for transport to and from the Clinic for those
patients who may otherwise be unable to get to DAHS for medical
treatment. Suitable vehicles are available depending on the client's
mobility or disability.
